Danit Fischtein, MD, IBLCE, BScN, Physician & CDI Education Manager at Accuity Healthcare, is a Medical Council of Canada certified family physician with a subspecialty focus in Emergency Medicine, Lactation Consultation and Psychotherapy. As a previous paramedic and registered nurse, Dr. Fischtein completed medical school in London, England and residency in Canada. She worked in clinical medicine prior to becoming a medical director with Accuity in 2020, and subsequently transitioned to the education team in 2022. Dr. Fischtein has developed the first homecare extended hospital program in Toronto, as well as created the first integrated university curriculum within the BSN program. She has led multiple medical RFPs and accreditations and taught medical professionals at all levels. Nationally, she has presented at conferences all over North America, served as an elected board member on multiple boards, and was an elected provincial representative of the Ontario Medical Association for 5 years. In addition to dedicating her life in medicine she is a published author in both medical journals and chapter books.
