Debra Primeau, MA, RHIA, MAOM, FAHIMA
Debra Primeau, MA, RHIA, MAOM, FAHIMA, is an energetic and seasoned healthcare professional with over 40 years of experience as a health information professional. With her demonstrated ability to adapt and succeed in a variety of settings, Debi has worked with large integrated delivery networks, small hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, ambulatory care settings and consulting vendors.
She began her career after receiving her Accredited Record Technician certification working as a coding professional and soon expanded her role into management. Debi has worked with various HIM consulting companies as the VP of HIM Services, Compliance of Privacy and Security, as well being responsible for developing and providing corporate-wide education and training. Debi founded Primeau Consulting Group in 2011 and continues to lead health information professionals who provide expert consulting services to clients across the United States.
Ever committed to life-long learning, Debi achieved her Bachelors degree in business management and a Masters degree in organizational management and successfully passed the Registered Health Information Administrator certification exam. Debi received the distinction of Fellow from AHIMA in 2008 and the Distinguished Member Award from the California CSA in 2013.
Debi has served on many CSA committees, is the Past President of CHIA, and has volunteered on the AHIMA Advocacy and Policy Council since 2014. She delivers educational presentations and has written numerous articles for HIM and affiliated healthcare publications. She lives with her husband, Brent in Mount Vernon, Washington and enjoys spending time with her two children and three grandchildren.
