Debora Butts, RHIA, is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Webster University and Texas Southern University, where she earned BS, MA, and EdD degrees respectively. She is currently Program Director and Professor of the Health Information Technology Program at Lone Star College-North Harris in Houston, Texas. This position is Dr. Butts’s 4th run as Program Director. She has held numerous positions in the academic and clinical setting. The Revenue Cycle is her strongest passion in the Health Information Management profession. She has served as Past President of the Houston Area HIM Association and volunteered in numerous capacities for the organization. Dr. Butts resides in Katy, Texas and is most proud of her two adult children, Erinn, 34 and Warren, 32.  In her spare time she loves to plant and watch what blooms.
