Lynette Williamson, Ed.D., RHIA, CCS, CPC, FAHIMA
Lynette Williamson, Ed.D., RHIA, CCS, CPC, FAHIMA, earned her bachelor of science in health information management from Florida International University, a master of business administration with concentration in Global Management from University of Phoenix, and an Ed.D. in educational leadership with the concentration of Higher Education from Gwynedd Mercy University. Her research interests include student engagement and student success, especially for distance education.
Dr. Williamson is an assistant professor in Health Information Management at the University of Hawai’i-West O’ahu. Previously she served as Program Director for the Medical Coding Specialist Certificate Program at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC).
Additionally, Dr. Williamson has served in various volunteer capacities including the RHIT Exam Construction Committee, Peer Reviewer for CAHIIM, CAHIIM Board member, and most recently a member of CAHIIM’s HIM Accreditation Council. In 2011 Dr. Williamson was awarded fellowship from AHIMA and in 2017, she received the Merit Scholarship for Leadership from AHIMA. Currently, she is serving on the Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM).
