Mike Niederpruem, PhD, CAE, is currently serving as AHIMA’s Vice President, Certifications. Previously, Mike was a consultant with the Institute for Adult Learning in Singapore, where he led a multi-organizational, multi-cultural team, whose charge was to transform the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications Course Accreditation Framework (inclusive of standards and processes), which is part of the national continuing education and training system designed for adult workers throughout Singapore. 

Before his time in Singapore, Mike served as the Senior Vice President of Learning and Development at the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. He also previously served as the Director for Professional Development Programs at the University of Chicago. Mike also has extensive experience with assessment, competency validation, and professional voluntary certification programs, serving in leadership positions with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) from 2007 – 2013, and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) from 2003 – 2007.
