Rebecca Reynolds, EdD, RHIA
Rebecca Reynolds, EdD, RHIA, has been with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center since 2002 and currently serves as the program director. Dr Reynols is a past Commissioner ofthe Commission on Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIMa past president of the Tennessee Health Information Management Association and has served on workgroups for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as well as on the AHIMA Nominating Committee.and the AHIMA Council on Excellence in Education (CEE). She presently serves as editor for the THIMA Legal Handbook and as a co-editor of the AHIMA publication Fundamentals of Law for Health Informatics and Information Management. Reynolds is a recipient of the Tennessee Health Information Management Association’s Distinguished Member Award and is well known for expertise in legal and documentation issues through teaching numerous HIPAA, legal, and documentation workshops.
Her current work focuses on identification of patterns of multimorbidities of patients with obesity at various weight classes, on verification of sepsis diagnoses in clinical records and the HIIM workforce needs.
